Title:
[upstream] Cannot save Word document with password
Status in OpenOffice:
Confirmed
Status in openoffice.org package in Ubuntu:
Fix Released
Bug description:
Binary package hint: openoffice.org
In OpenOffice Writer, I cannot save a Word document with a password,
though I am allowed to open the Word document that has an Office
97/2000 password. To save with a password Writer is requiring to save
in a native format. This prevents passing the file back to Word
users.
Since a doc file can be opened providing the password I think it
should be allowed to save it as a doc with a password. This is using
the Office97/2000 password compatibility for files used on both
Windows and Ubuntu.
I am using OpenOffice 2.3.0 in Ubuntu Gutsy but I had the same problem
using OpenOffice 2.2 with Ubuntu Feisty.
