Thank you for your bug report, can you describe exactly what you do to
trigger the issue? On wily clicking on sorting by size seems to do that
correctly, folders included

Title:
file-roller does not respect sort order for folders

Status in File Roller:
  Confirmed
Status in file-roller package in Ubuntu:
  Incomplete

Bug description:
This bug exists since 2010, see duplicate bug 647004 for Gnome 2.

  I checked file-roller 3.6.3 with an Ubuntu Raring 13.04 Live-CD and it
  is still an issue.

file-roller displays files and folders in an archive as multi-column
list. Clicking a column title sorts it ascending, clicking it again
sorts it descending. It behaves like Nautilus, except that folders are
never sorted by their date, even if the date column has been clicked.

I'd expect that files and folders are always sorted according to the
same column, namely the last-clicked column that shows the small arrow
  to indicate the sort order.
