If it didn't take you 4 years to acknowledge a bug report things may

Title:
Pidgin seems to crash (or vanish) randomly
Status in pidgin package in Ubuntu:
Invalid
Bug description:
Binary package hint: pidgin
I will be using Pidgin throughout the day and it will vanish about 4-5
times. When I say vanish I mean all open chat windows, buddy list and
even the icon in the status bar at the top of the screen.
I have run gdm on this however when pidgin vanished and I had to quit
running pidgin to get back to the (gdb) line then the buddy list just
appeared but was hanging in an unresponsive state. I got the
backtrace and will attach it to this ticket.
Ubuntu Information
jocrawfo@jcrawford-laptop:~$ lsb_release -rd
Description: Ubuntu 10.10
Release: 10.10
Package
pidgin 1:2.73-1ubuntu3.2
Expected
Pidgin would run until I closed it
Actual Result
Pidgin vanishes from view (not entirely sure it closes but relaunching always fixes)
