I get this in Xubuntu 15.04.  Seems to be tied to duplicity 07.01

Bug description:
  sudo su root
  root@ubuntu-jml58z:/home/jml58z# gksu deja-dup-preferences

  ** (deja-dup-preferences:25388): CRITICAL **:
  deja_dup_config_location_add_volume_full: assertion `uuid != NULL'
  failed

  failed

  I receive this error from a fresh install of deja-dup  in Ubuntu
  precise... 12.04

  I want to run deja-dup as root because otherwise there is no way to back up  cetain files like /etc/sudoers an many others that have  permisions like
  -r--r----- 1 root root
