[Bug 298583] Re: suspends when in the middle of a file operation

Thank you for taking the time to report this bug and helping to make
Ubuntu better. We are sorry that we do not always have the capacity to
look at all reported bugs in a timely manner. There have been many
changes in Ubuntu since that time you reported the bug and your problem
may have been fixed with some of the updates. It would help us a lot if
you could test it on a currently supported Ubuntu version. When you test
it and it is still an issue, kindly upload the updated logs by running
apport-collect <bug #> and any other logs that are relevant for this
particular issue.

Title:
suspends when in the middle of a file operation

Status in gnome-vfs package in Ubuntu:
  Incomplete

Bug description:
I do not know what package this is in.

  I am using ubuntu 8.10

I mounted a ftp server, and started to copy a very large file from it
to my hard drive. I left, and when I came back, my computer was in
sleep mode. when I woke it up, the file operation box and progress bar
was not there, as if it was finished, but the file was much smaller
than it should have been (because it was not finished copying). I
tried to copy it again, but the progress bar was not moving again, and
  it would not copy.

The computer should not automatically go into sleep mode when it is in
the middle of doing something (like a transmission download, a large
file operation, watching a movie or listening to songs, etc). This is
something I would expect from vista.
