Second thoughts: It's already on its way via the fix of bug #268953.
In the meantime, the hunspell-gd package can be downloaded from:
https://packages.debian.org/sid/hunspell-gd
So you can install it in advance, and check out if it improves things.

Bug description:
The Hunspell dictionary for Scottish Gaelic is seriously outdated in
Ubuntu. There are a lot of words that it doesn't recognize but that it
will recognize with Windows versions of the same software.
I noticed this in Firefox and LibreOffice.
