I changed the acceleration from "sna" to "uxa" and things are working
fine. What seems to be the problem with "sna" by the way?

  Screen images and text is garbled

Status in xserver-xorg-video-intel package in Ubuntu:
  New

Bug description:
  Hi,

   I have upgraded to Kubuntu 15.10  and the upgrade went well without
  any problems. After the reboot I get a screen with completely garbled
  text. I have a Intel 4 series chipset Integrated controller.  glxinfo
  | grep render gives direct rendering: Yes and the Render string is
  Mesa DRI Intel(R) G45/G43.

  I have attached the screenshot. Please let me know if there are any
  workarounds for this so that I can continue my work.
