Title:
[oneiric] gnome-settings-daemon not working properly
Status in “gnome-settings-daemon” package in Ubuntu:
Confirmed
Bug description:
gnome-settings-daemon reports via .xsession-errors (name differs)
(gnome-settings-daemon:1955): libappindicator-WARNING **: Unable to connect to the Notification Watcher: GDBus.Error:org.freedesktop.DBus.Error.ServiceUnknown: The name :1.2203 was not provided by any .service fil
es
also unity-panel-service does not start properly and .xsession-errors logs a lot of
unity-panel-service: no process found
The menu of running applications jump from application to panel
multiple times per second and dbus-daemon produces around 30% cpu
load.
I fixed the problem temporarily for the session by killall -9 gnome-
settings-daemon
ii gnome-settings-daemon 3.1.3-0ubuntu5
ii dbus 1.4.12-4ubuntu2
ii indicator-application 0.3.91-0ubuntu2
ii indicator-appmenu 0.2.91-0ubuntu1
ii indicator-appmenu-gtk2 0.2.91-0ubuntu1
