[Bug 1511232] [NEW] file-roller reports wrong content size for .gz file

 

Public bug reported:

.gz file size is 5.1 GB (5,063,869,339 bytes)
file-roller reports content size 3.9GB and compression ratio 0.77 
after extracting, the actual file size is 54.9 GB (54,940,270,592 bytes)

version and system info:
file-roller 3.10.2.1-0ubuntu4.1
ubuntu 14.04.3 LTS
Memory 3.9 GiB
Processor AMD Athlon(tm) II X4 620 
OS type 64-bit

Steps to reproduce:
go to: http://dumps.wikimedia.org/wikidatawiki/20151002/
download file: wikidatawiki-20151002-pages-logging.xml.gz
(file with description "Log events to all pages and users.")
open file with archive manager, it shows:
wikidatawiki-20151002-pages-logging.xml  3.9 GB
extract the file and check actual size: 54.9 GB
