[Bug 846288] Re: Wrong filesystem type is reported in drive properties
Well it seems that nautilus wrongly assumes that every linux ext partition must be ext3/4. I'm not sure how exactly it assesses the partition type but it seems buggy in this case. I was also able to confirm it on my system.

Properties window for USB drive formatted as ext2 shows filesystem type as ext3/ext4.
