[Bug 1449647] Re: screen flickering during fullscreen video playback

Neil Widdowson, to advise, this report has nothing to do with nvidia
graphics cards.

Despite this, it will help immensely if you filed a new report with Ubuntu via a terminal:
ubuntu-bug xorg

Please ensure you have the package xdiagnose installed, and that you
click the Yes button for attaching additional debugging information.

Also, please feel free to subscribe me to it.

1002:68e0 With fglrx screen flickering during fullscreen video
  playback

Status in fglrx:
  New
Status in fglrx-installer package in Ubuntu:
  Triaged

Bug description:
When I adjust the brightness or volume using the keyboard media buttons during full screen video playback, the screen flickers. This happens in both Vlc and the default Videos application. Is there a fix for this? I am using ubuntu 15.04 with ati catalyst 15.20.
this doesnt happen when i am not using fullscreen playback. its probably associated with the notifications that come up on pressing the volume or brightness buttons.

WORKAROUND: Use the default radeon driver.
