Thank you for taking the time to report this bug and helping to make
Ubuntu better. We are sorry that we do not always have the capacity to
look at all reported bugs in a timely manner. There have been many
changes in Ubuntu since that time you reported the bug and your problem
may have been fixed with some of the updates.

This is a package failure between currently unsupported releases so we
can no longer work on this.

Bug description:

  I have not been able to get my Brother hl2270dw printer to work with
  ubuntu 11.04 on my dual boot HP dm3-2010us laptop.   After several
  weeks of frustration and search for info on Brother's site I found
  they had a tool to install their drivers!  So I downloaded the tool
  and tried to use it.  After issuing the invoking it I got an red msg
  that said "CUPS  NOT INSTALLED"  However, the software center listed
  CUPS as installed.  So I decided to remove it and then reinstall, and
  then the removal failed!
