The original issue was indeed fixed

But feel free to open a new bug about the party mode having issues in
the newer versions

Status in rhythmbox package in Ubuntu:
  Fix Released

Bug description:
  Binary package hint: rhythmbox

  If one runs Unity and switches to the Party Mode in Rhythmbox (View-
  Menu), he is unable to switch back to normal mode (if he forgot the
  correct key) as the panel and the launcher disapear.
