I have mapped folders on my NAS to my notebook via NFS and autofs:

sven@svenBlack:~$ more /etc/auto.master.d/diskstation.autofs
/diskstation   /etc/diskstation.nfs
sven@svenBlack:~$ more /etc/diskstation.nfs 
*   -fstype=nfs4,soft,intr   diskstation:/volume1/&

Whenever my notebook is connected to another network - which my NAS is
not part of - Nautilus needs several seconds to display contents for
folders on my local harddrive.
