Message #152174
[Bug 1524148] [NEW] Shows broadcom 4322 as not working when connected on wifi from this chip
Public bug reported:
To reproduce on a laptop with a broadcom 4322 wireless chipset install
firmware-b43-installer package and then connect to a wireless network
with thsi driver. Then open the additional drivers tab of software
properties gtk to see if this device is working or not. Instead even
though you are connected via this wireless network it still says it is
not working.
the network info output from inxi -n
Network: Card-1: Broadcom BCM4322 802.11a/b/g/n Wireless LAN Controller
driver: b43-pci-bridge
IF: wlan0 state: up mac: 00:25:56:94:d5:e0
Card-2: Realtek RTL8101/2/6E PCI Express Fast/Gigabit Ethernet controller
driver: r8169
IF: enp3s0 state: down mac: 00:23:8b:f3:76:7c
I expected ubuntu drivers common to not provide false negatives about wifi being broken. Instead it showed that my wireless was not working while I am using that to connect to launchpad to submit this bug report.
