[Bug 1017427] Re: Since Firefox 13 tabs are reloaded automatically after starting Firefox when focussing them

This version is no more supported and is not a 'security' problem; so
does not expect a backport

** Changed in: firefox (Ubuntu)

Title:
Since Firefox 13 tabs are reloaded automatically after starting
  Firefox when focussing them

Status in firefox package in Ubuntu:
  Invalid

Bug description:
Up to version 12 the user could determine by himself when content was
  being reloaded.

Since version 13 firefox reloads every tab after starting the
programme when putting the focus on this tab, even if the content is
stored in the cache memory. So the user gets the new content from the
internet, which is very often the error page 404.

I have received some tips that didn't help yet, e. g. to change the value of
  browser.cache.check_doc_frequency
to 2 (= always use the cached version).
That does, what it is supposed to do (only load a new version of the page if the user gives the command to do so), but it doesn't prevent reloading cached tabs when visiting them.

  How can I either
  - stop this unrequested behaviour
  - or go back to Firefox 12 (under Xubuntu 11.10)?

  Thank you for your help!
  Micha
