Title:
  Most of my inbox randomly deleted after compacting

Status in thunderbird package in Ubuntu:
  Invalid

Bug description:
  I issued a "compact folders" on Thunderbird and I now have 17 message
  in my inbox instead of 500.  It has also randomly removed many
  messages in other folders.

  I am seriously upset.

  (I use IMAP with Dovecot server)
