Title:
[Conexant ID 2bfa] ALSA test tone not correctly played back

Status in alsa-driver package in Ubuntu:
  Invalid

Bug description:
I have not used this laptop for a few months. The sound was not
working at all the last time I used it. I turned it on today, and the
sound was working fine for the first 20 minutes of using the computer.
It stopped working all together. I troubleshot a couple of things such
as making sure the sound was not muted. I then googled the problem and
here I am. Any help would be appreciated as I would really like to use
my laptop for watching tv shows, listening to music, and watching
  crazy things on Youtube.
