Title:
unity-control-center datetime segfaults when sorting while editing

Status in unity-control-center package in Ubuntu:
  Confirmed

Bug description:
I work on systems that are in multiple timezones, so I like to have
multiple clocks available to me at a glance so I can see what time it
is where those systems are running.

Due to an unrelated mistake, I did a complete reinstall of Ubuntu last
night, but maintained my user profile (separate drive).

  1. I clicked on the clock in the system notification area, and selected Time & Date Settings.
  2. I ticked some boxes (Show a clock, Weekday, 24 hour time, seconds, monthly calendar, include week numbers, time in other locations)
  3. I clicked "Choose locations" and added Auckland, Adelaide, Perth, New York and Dallas
  4. I clicked add (+) again but before actually entering a title, I clicked "Sort by time" (having clicked neither sort by time, nor sort by name previously) ... nothing seemed to happen so I clicked it again a couple of times

It's at this point my hard disk started thrashing heavily for several
minutes and I lost control of my system until the IO subsided. I could
not SSH in from another system (I could authenticate it seems, but not
get a prompt) as if something was consuming all the available disk IO.

After a few moments, the system came good again.

It seems the key is to click the "+" but not complete the actual
location adding operation, as clicking "Sort by time" otherwise works
  just fine.
