In case it helps, this is the kernel output for the workaround. sudo
alsa force-reload with a few seconds in between. alsa 1.0.16.

Bug description:
  No sound on brand new HP ProBook 470 G3 after installing Ubuntu 14.04
  on headphones or internal speakers.

  Connecting a USB headphone and microphone both work, though.
