Title:
REGRESSION: Ubuntu 9.10: No printing with a USB connected HP LaserJet
  3380

Status in cups package in Ubuntu:
  Expired

Bug description:
With Ubuntu 7.10, 8.04 and 8.10, printing has never been a problem
  with a HP LaserJet 3380.

With Ubuntu 9.04, printing started to take much longer than before (up
to approx. 10 seconds from clicking "print" until the printer started
  printing a simple text page).

Now with Ubuntu 9.10, it does not print any more at all. Printer says
"Dokument wird gedruckt" but nothing happens.

This relates to newly installed systems (no distribution upgrades) with all available updates applied.
