Bug persists in 14.04 with latest updates.
For some time it was alright, but after one boot up it no longer shows main menu, but conversation menu works

Bug description:
  Binary package hint: pidgin

  There is no main menu of Pidgin at Ubuntu 11.04 with Unity interface.
  I can see menu of chat window, but main window is not.
