[Bug 1242798] Re: NM does not automatically reconnect to APs that disappear and reappear shortly after

Thank you for taking the time to report this bug and helping to make
Ubuntu better. We are sorry that we do not always have the capacity to
look at all reported bugs in a timely manner. There have been many
changes in Ubuntu since that time you reported the bug and your problem
may have been fixed with some of the updates.

I'm going to close this bug report as their is nothing else we can do
with this old report in a now unsupported version of Ubuntu. If you
still have this issue on Ubuntu 14.04 or higher, please do reopen or
report a new bug.

** Changed in: network-manager (Ubuntu)

Title:
NM does not automatically reconnect to APs that disappear and reappear
  shortly after

Status in network-manager package in Ubuntu:
  Invalid

Bug description:
This is more a nuisance than a bug, but I confirmed it on two
  different machines.

We have a (Condo, I cannot modify it) wireless router that fails quite
frequently --- the AP disappear. After a few swconds (10 to 30,
average) it comes up again. All my devices (phones, tablets etc) will
automatically reconnect then; my two linux laptops fails to do that.

The AP disappear from the list of available AP when it goes down, as
expected, but after then it does not reappear unless I switch wireless
"off" then "on" again, at which point NM reconnects correctly.

Apport info attached for the laptop running Ubuntu 13.04; the same
happens in the other one with Ubuntu Gnome 13.10.
