[Bug 1537443] [NEW] flickering of screen

Public bug reported:

There is sudden freeze of keyboard and mouse followed by flickering of
led screen, I have found a work around by pressing ctlrl+alt+del
resulting in opening of restart and shut down dialogue box. Most of the
time the flickering stops without restarting the computer but some times
I have to force restart the computer. I am using Ubuntu since 2008 and
the problem started after upgrading from 15.04 to 15.10,it still
persists after a clean reinstall  and complete update yesterday.
