3) didn't really know what to expect, i was just playing around with
it; ad-hoc networks show up on other computers as random SSID garbage
(and there are several of them)
4) nm-applet kept spamming the screen saying it was
connecting/disconnecting to the new network (console said
notifications were throttled at 50, so its doing it a lot and fast),
eventually nm-applet would crash
