Title:
Microphone "was" muted when Input Volume is set to 99% and above
Status in alsa-driver package in Ubuntu:
Invalid
Bug description:
Description: Ubuntu 10.04 LTS
Release: 10.04
Since this version my webcam (Logitech E3500) did not work for sound (it did in 9.x). Video was alright but sound did not work.
After checking everything and that it was not muted I used pavucontrol and played with the settings. There I noticed that the microphone only recorded when I put the input level below 98%, everything above (99 and 100) would mute the microphone.
Since then the microphone works fine. Strangely: after a reboot the system increased the setting to 100% again, but now the microphone worked. No updates had been applied in the meantime.
I have no idea what this is or how to regress this, but maybe it can be linked to similar problems.
