This bug also occurs on Ubuntu 15.10.  The following error is reported
when "Turn on Recommendations" is selected:

The display is also grey on grey as mentioned by another poster (see
attached image ) - not sure if this is a related issue?

  I'm running the latest update of Ubuntu Gnome 14.04.
