Title:
the fuse filesystem for gvfs has got "stuck"
Status in “gvfs” package in Ubuntu:
Expired
Bug description:
Binary package hint: gvfs
$ df -h | grep gvfs
gvfs-fuse-daemon 92G 87G 960M 99% /home/jon/.gvfs
/dev/fuse 92G 87G 960M 99% /home/jon/.gvfs
jon@sobek:~$ fusermount -u .gvfs
fusermount: /home/jon/.gvfs not mounted
jon@sobek:~$ umount .gvfs
umount: it seems /home/jon/.gvfs is mounted multiple times
jon@sobek:~$ sudo umount .gvfs
[sudo] password for jon:
umount: /home/jon/.gvfs: not mounted
There's a more general issue about FUSE and inconsistent advice on
mount state.
Maybe I can force a umount?
jon@sobek:~$ umount -f .gvfs
umount: only root can do that
jon@sobek:~$ sudo umount -f .gvfs
umount2: Invalid argument
umount: .gvfs: not mounted
jon@sobek:~$ umount -l .gvfs
umount: /home/jon/.gvfs is not mounted (according to mtab)
jon@sobek:~$ fusermount -uz .gvfs
fusermount: entry for /home/jon/.gvfs not found in /etc/mtab
One of the above commands cleared the problem, but I'm not sure which
(I assumed they all failed when I ran them)
