Title:
PDF export: poor quality with transparency

Status in “libreoffice” package in Ubuntu:
  Invalid
Status in “openoffice.org” package in Ubuntu:
  Won't Fix

Bug description:
I have a figure with transparency I made in oodraw on Dec 2nd, 2010. (attached)
On that date I generated a PDF file, (attached).

If I try and export the drawing as a PDF now, the output does not look
anything like the old PDF or the oodraw file. Gradients are messed up,
and transparency results in low resolution rasterization.

I tried viewing the PDF with evince and pdfedit, and they both show
  the same results.
