[Bug 703332] Re: Cannot install any sofware using the ubuntu software center
Thanks for the report, Alexander, and sorry for the slow response.
This is awkward. According to <http://www.kaspersky.com/anti-
virus_linux_workstation>, Kaspersky Anti-Virus for Linux Workstation is
not available for free download. It's available only as part of various
suites, the cheapest of which is £253.00. That's a bit beyond our bug
triage budget. :-)
So, if you still experience the problem, could you try this?
1. Install Ubuntu 11.10 beta 1 in a VM or separate partition.
2. Install all Ubuntu updates.
3. In a Terminal window, enter "software-center".
4. Once USC launches, double-click on the Kaspersky package and try to install it.
5. When it fails, copy and paste the error output from the Terminal window into this bug report.
Thanks.

Title:
Kaspersky for Linux installation fails and prevents further
installations
Status in “software-center” package in Ubuntu:
Incomplete
Bug description:
Binary package hint: software-center
It just says "Aplicando los cambios" - "Applying the changes ..." (I guess) and stands there and it didn't do anything else.
I haven't this problem before, because i've installed a lot of programs before without any problem, this "error" begin after i tried to install "Kaspersky for linux workstations" the download and instalation was sucessful but the Applying changes part do not, it didn't make any advance beyond this part and then every time i tried to install other software when i open the software center it inmediately says Applying changes when i try to install something.
How can i fix this? Its a bug? Or Its a fail cause of the missed
instalation of Kaspersky? Can i Uninstall de Software center and
install it again?
Ah, and i can't enter in the terminal, i can't type my password and
says "Login incorrect".
