[Bug 376490] Re: Writer imposes font size in character style

I do not understand the URL concern. The problem persists in LibreOffice
(Ubuntu). I tried to mark the bug as "also affects distribution
libreoffice (ubuntu)" as Björn asked, but the system denies it because
replication.

Bug description:
  Binary package hint: openoffice.org-writer

When defining a character style, OpenOffice.org Writer imposes the
character style when Font tab is actived.

For example. You want to create a new character style for technical
computer words in Mono-spaced font. In Styles and formating window,
create a new style. The Character style dialog opens. In Organizer tab
you write the style's name (let's say Listing). The Contains section
is empty. Everything is well. But when you moves to the Font tab and
returns to the Organizer tab, the font size is imposed, but you only
want to define the font-family for the new style and keep the size of
each word you apply that style. I have not found a way to remove the
  size.

This problem happens in Ubuntu 8.10 and 9.04. In OpenOffice for MacOSX
and Windows, the Character Style dialog works fine.
