Title:
No way to open docx files directly from firefox--only option to save
allowed
Status in “firefox” package in Ubuntu:
New
Bug description:
According to the help page on adding download actions
(http://support.mozilla.com/en-US/kb/Managing%20file%20types#w_adding-
download-actions), if one clicks on a file type that Firefox does not
already have an action for, it will ask whether you want to "Open
with" an application that you specify or "Save file." This happens for
most file types but for some reason not with docx. Instead firefox
simply asks where I want to save the file with no option to specify a
helper application. This makes it impossible to quickly view docx
files by opening them in LibreOffice.
I am using Ubuntu Natty and Firefox 6.0.2
