  Changing Nautilus background to "White" adds undesired font shadow
  effect

Status in “nautilus” package in Ubuntu:

Bug description:
  This affects Icon View, and Compact View. If I switch between view
  modes then shadow effect will disappear, but it comes back if I close
  Nautilus and reopen it again.
