Title:
software-center crashes with 'BadWindow (invalid Window parameter)'

Status in “software-center” package in Ubuntu:
  Confirmed

Bug description:
Upon launching software-center-gtk3 from terminal, the program crashes
  & the following is displayed:

  2011-09-03 06:13:16,869 - softwarecenter.ui.gtk3.em - INFO - EM's: 15 12 17
2011-09-03 06:13:19,338 - softwarecenter.backend.reviews - WARNING - Could not get usefulness from server, no username in config file
  2011-09-03 06:13:28,755 - softwarecenter.ui.gtk3.app - INFO - software-center-agent finished with status 1

  (software-center-gtk3:5363): Gdk-WARNING **:
  /build/buildd/gtk+3.0-3.1.12/./gdk/x11/gdkwindow-x11.c:4766 drawable
is not a native X11 window

Gdk-ERROR **: The program 'software-center-gtk3' received an X Window System error.
This probably reflects a bug in the program.
The error was 'BadWindow (invalid Window parameter)'.
    (Details: serial 1419 error_code 3 request_code 20 minor_code 0)
    (Note to programmers: normally, X errors are reported asynchronously;
that is, you will receive the error a while after causing it.
To debug your program, run it with the --sync command line
option to change this behavior. You can then get a meaningful
backtrace from your debugger if you break on the gdk_x_error() function.)
  Trace/breakpoint trap (core dumped)

  1) The release of Ubuntu you are using... Ubuntu oneiric Beta 1
  2) The version of the package you are using.... software-center 4.1.21
  3) What you expected to happen.... launching the software-center package to bring up Ubuntu Software Center
  4) What happened instead..... Window appeared for a few seconds and then the program crashed

  Additional Notes:
  - I installed Oneiric Beta1 was over Natty, but formatted the partition Natty was on to do it. However, there is a separate partition for 'home'
  - Launching the gtk2 version of software-center (i.e., just launching 'software-center' from a command line) works just fine.
