Title:
IPv6 static configuration does not set the default route
Status in “network-manager” package in Ubuntu:
Confirmed
Bug description:
I tried to configure a connection with automatic IPv4 but static IPv6
since the network has no RA and no DHCP. I add the address, and the
gateway. It adds an address but no default route.
% ip -6 addr show
1: lo: <LOOPBACK,UP,LOWER_UP> mtu 16436
inet6 ::1/128 scope host
valid_lft forever preferred_lft forever
2: eth0: <BROADCAST,MULTICAST,UP,LOWER_UP> mtu 1500 qlen 1000
inet6 2001:67c:2219:7::86:54/64 scope global
valid_lft forever preferred_lft forever
inet6 fe80::1a03:73ff:fe66:e568/64 scope link
valid_lft forever preferred_lft forever
% ip -6 route show
2001:67c:2219:7::/64 dev eth0 proto kernel metric 256
fe80::/64 dev eth0 proto kernel metric 256
So, obviously, it fails:
% ping6 www.afnic.fr
connect: Network is unreachable
Adding ::/0 in "Routes" changes nothing.
A colleague tells me it worked with Maverick, so it may be a
regression.
PS : the field named "Prefix" should be renamed "Prefix length".
PPS : the static IPv6 address does not disappear hen changing the
connection.
