here for us to tell what the problem is.

If you still experience the problem, could you please trigger it once, and then attach these files:
/var/log/dpkg.log
/var/log/apthistory.log
/var/log/syslog

  I recently upgraded my Dell Inspiron Mini Netbook from Maverick to
  Natty and when I recently tried to install Google Chrome from .deb the
  Ubuntu Software Center acted as if it was installing and then stalls
  without any error message.
