[Bug 369725] Re: Annoying pop-up wizard for mobile broadband
This doesn't happen in Natty and Oneiric, the applet only shows a link
to the wizard in the drop-down menu; closing as Fix Released.
** Changed in: network-manager (Ubuntu)
Status: New => Fix Released

Title:
Annoying pop-up wizard for mobile broadband
Status in “network-manager” package in Ubuntu:
Fix Released
Bug description:
Binary package hint: network-manager
When a 3G device is present, NM pops up a configuration wizard for
mobile broadband. This is a nice feature, unfortunately, if the user
does not want to use mobile broadband, e.g. does not have a SIM card,
the wizard will show up on every login. This mimics the Windows
feature of new hardware present that you don't care about, and is very
annoying. Of course, you can enter bogus information to get rid of the
wizard, but this is not an acceptable solution.
Please only show the mobile broadband wizard once, and let the user
edit connections if she requires the wizard at a later point in time.
