Title:
  software-center crashed with signal 5

Status in “software-center” package in Ubuntu:
  Invalid

Bug description:
  1) Launch software-center from the unity launcher
  2) U-S-C opens for a few brief seconds
  3) Watch U-S-C crash instantly before your eyes

Long standing bug that still seems quite prevalent only weeks before
final. Running sudo via command line seems to work just fine. This
doesn't seem like something a new user should do to access an
application catered to a new/casual user. Especially from an
application that is installed default in the unity launcher.
