[Bug 857203] Re: (oneiric) opening a new tab automatically moves and resizes window to one line

Trying to manually resize the window once it is in this state will
consistently crash the window manager.

Title:
(oneiric) opening a new tab automatically moves and resizes window to
  one line

Status in “gnome-terminal” package in Ubuntu:
  New

Bug description:
In an Oneiric beta, when I add a new tab to the terminal window, the
window is automatically resized to be one line high. At the same
time, the window is moved to the very top of the screen, with the
window decoration behind the top panel. This makes it difficult to
move or resize it back to a usable state.

  Screenshot of resulting window attached.

Expected behaviour? Opening a new tab should open the new tab,
without changing the size or position of the window.

(I am running on a laptop with an external monitor - not sure if that
  is related.)
