Title:
uses gnome-power-manager defaults as-is, which puts the host to sleep
after 30 minutes
Status in “gdm” package in Ubuntu:
New
Bug description:
Since version 3.x, on a fresh install, GDM uses the gnome-power-
manager defaults as-is for its greeter session. This has the
unfortunate consequence of putting the host to sleep after 30 minutes,
which is not desirable in a situation when the same host is meant to
provide network services. This is even less acceptable considering how
the new dconf-based GNOME configuration system makes it extremely
tedious for the user to fix this manually later on e.g. 'gksu -u gdm
gnome-control-center' won't work, because dconf tools expect a direct
access to the display and yet the new GNOME3 environment no longer has
any proper tool to configure GDM sessions the same way that GDM2 did.
