[Bug 860497] Re: [UIFe] system informations should show the Ubuntu version and logo
+1 from Docs Team. I'd like to see both GNOME & Ubuntu version numbers
in 12.04 but this is ok for now. (I in fact had been thinking about the
missing disto version on this panel for several weeks since this info
was present in System Monitor but I needed to find someone to code my
design.)
Please contact the Translations Team (if you haven't already) to see if they approve. If the design is to show "Version 11.10" then I believe this will break translations since the string currently has the word "Version" and the number in the same string. Setting it to just "11.10" shouldn't though, but it may be less clear.

The gnome-control-center info panel displays a GNOME logo with the
GNOME version, the design team requested those to be replaced with the
Ubuntu logo and version under Unity
