[Bug 862326] Re: screensaver does not display after resume from suspend on multihead
** Summary changed:
- screensaver does not display after resume from suspend on multihead
+ screensaver not visible after resume from suspend on multihead
** Description changed:
I use a Thinkpad x201s with Intel drivers. When I suspend and resume
without an external monitor, on resume gnome-screensaver works correctly
(the dialog is shown, and I can enter my password).
When I plug an external monitor into the VGA port and use Displays to
set the laptop LCD as 'off' and the external monitor as 'on' (so that
only the external monitor is used), when I suspend and then resume, the
- password dialog is briefly displayed on the LCD, and then both screens
- go blank. I can see and move a cursor on the external monitor, but I
- can't see the password prompt, though it will receive keyboard input as
- I can blindly enter my password and it'll unlock. Since I am not sure
- what I am typing into, this is not optimal. Typically I must
- 'Ctrl+Alt+F1' and 'Ctrl+Alt+F7' back in order to see the password prompt
- properly displayed.
+ password dialog is (sometimes) briefly displayed on the LCD, and then
+ both screens go blank. I can see and move a cursor on the external
+ monitor, but I can't see the password prompt, though it will receive
+ keyboard input as I can blindly enter my password and it'll unlock, but
+ after unlocking there is still just a black screen (if I move my mouse,
+ I can see that it unlocked though because I can see the cursor change as
+ it moves over my open windows). Typically I must 'Ctrl+Alt+F1' and
+ 'Ctrl+Alt+F7' back in order to see the password prompt properly
+ displayed.
