[Bug 862139] Re: xset q reports DPMS mode with time 600 regardless of what g-c-c setting

it has been discussed on IRC, g-s-d doesn't fiddle with the dpms value,
it has its own tracking but it should probably unset dpms otherwise xorg
will turn off the screen

** Changed in: gnome-control-center (Ubuntu)

Title:
xset q reports DPMS mode with time 600 regardless of what g-c-c
  setting

Status in GNOME Control Center:
  New
Status in “gnome-control-center” package in Ubuntu:
  New

Bug description:
Regardless what setting I use in gnome-control-centers display capplet, my screen turns off after 10min.
It turns out that DPMS is used:

  $ xset q
  DPMS (Energy Star):
    Standby: 600 Suspend: 600 Off: 600
    DPMS is Enabled
    Monitor is On

But I don't turn this on myself. Changing the settings in the control-
center does not change this value in any way.
