Same here. I have to click the emepathy entry in message-indicator twice
to make empathy appear.

Bug description:
  Since a couple of updates ago, when I start empathy using the
  messaging indicator, the empathy window appears for a second on my
  screen and then disappears. I need to click on the message indicator
  again to display the window.

  This is a bad user experience.
