[Bug 866047] Re: gnome-settings-daemon does not work anymore in Oneiric
Ok, looks like the it was unity-greeter that caused the problem. Fixed
after doing
gsettings set org.gnome.settings-daemon.plugins.xsettings active
true
** Changed in: gnome-settings-daemon (Ubuntu)

Title:
gnome-settings-daemon does not work anymore in Oneiric
Status in “gnome-settings-daemon” package in Ubuntu:
Invalid
Bug description:
Since last thursday, gnome-settings-daemon has not been working for
me.
It doesn't crash, but it doesn't do what it is supposed to do either.
It doesn't load the gtk themes, icon themes, some keyboard overrides
don't work, touchpad settings are messed up, etc.
If I kill the gnome-settings-daemon process and start as root, the theme/settings for the root user work fine.
But if I start as regular user, nothing happens. I've the latest updates applied as of Oct 4.
