[Bug 869562] Re: totem CPU usage playing DVD is excessive - oneiric regression
Well, now I feel silly. Turns out CPU usage under natty was comparably
high, I just never noticed until looking at things with a post-release
critical eye for regressions.

Title:
totem CPU usage playing DVD is excessive - oneiric regression
Status in “totem” package in Ubuntu:
Invalid
Bug description:
After an upgrade to oneiric, I noticed totem is using an excessive
amount of CPU to play a DVD - top shows between 20% - 26% on an
"Intel(R) Core(TM) i7 CPU Q 820 @ 1.73GHz"
I don't have figures for natty trivially available, but I feel based
on perceptions of fan speeds and how hot the laptop becomes to the
touch, that this must be excessive, and a regression compared to
natty.
I'll be reinstalling natty on the system in question to get a better
comparison.
