[Bug 870035] Re: Double-clicking on Language Support icon in System Settings launches two identical instances of the Language Support window
Thanks for your help to improve Ubuntu by reporting these observations!
Even if I see the same result, I can't help wondering why you double-
click. ;-) The System Settings icons expect you to click once.
The reason why the main window does not disappear is that Language
Support, unlike the other System Settings tools, is not 'owned' by the
gnome-control-center center package, and it cannot easily be integrated
with the main window in the same way. A different solution is planned
for Ubuntu 12.04, and I for one don't think it would be worth the effort
to change the Oneiric behaviour in this respect.

When I double-click on the Language Support icon in System Settings,
two identical windows called "Language Support" are launched. The main
window for System Settings is still visible and active. This does not
happen with any other icon in System Settings.
