Title:
When changing default browser in System Setting the default for x-www-
  browser is not changed

Status in “gnome-control-center” package in Ubuntu:
  New

Bug description:
  This affects at the least
apport (who cares - previous - bug 837518
  Thunderbird
  Software-center

  To test:
Install chromium-browser - it will be set on auto mode in update-alternatives x-www-browser

Open a link in Software Center - firefox will still be used
Open a link in Thunderbird - chromium-browser will be used

The only way to change the behavior of either Sc or Tb will be to
manually set to desired in 'update-alternatives --config x-www-
browser' , changing the default in g-c-c has no effect in these
  instances
