Message #31569
[Bug 785304] Re: Radio stream sometimes crashes, always needs to be launched twice
This has also affected me for some time now. I often listen to
streaming NPR radio. When double-clicking to start playing, it always
fails on the first attempt, and always succeeds on the second attempt.
This is the URL I connect to:
http://www.npr.org/streams/mp3/nprlive24.pls

Title:
Radio stream sometimes crashes, always needs to be launched twice
Status in “banshee” package in Ubuntu:
Confirmed
Bug description:
Binary package hint: banshee
This stream is an AAC stream of Absolute Radio in the UK: http
://aacplus-ar-48.as34763.net:80/
When attempting to first play the stream one of two things will happen randomly:
* After a few seconds, Banshee stops trying to play and returns to Idle.
* Banshee crashes and exits.
Note that the stream never successfully starts playing at the first
attempt.
If Banshee didn't crash then a second attempt to play the stream
always seems to succeed.
