the issue is solved with GNOME3 in Oneiric

Bug description:
  When you double-click a date on the gnome-panel calendar it opens
  Evolution, even though the user might have a different calendar
  solution installed and prefer it.

  So a "calendar app" option should be added. It's needed to close this
  bug:
